Abstract Submissions 

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS 

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The abstract submission deadline has been extended to 15th January!

The Scientific Committee of the 8th European Regional Conference of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and the European Association of Breastfeeding Medicine invite you to submit an abstract for the Conference to be held in Split, Croatia, from 11th – 13th May 2023.

If you would like to submit an abstract, please apply by 15th January 2023. Early submission will be appreciated.

Abstracts for oral presentations and posters are invited in areas relevant to breastfeeding medicine.

Authors must register for the 8th ABM/EABM European Regional Conference to present their accepted abstracts.

Who should submit?

We invite physicians, medical students, and other health professionals to submit an abstract.

What to submit?

We encourage submissions of original research, on the topics of medical education, breastfeeding support, community projects, medications and breastfeeding or other clinical experience related to breastfeeding.

How to submit?

Please email the Abstract to Anita.PavicicBosnjak@abm-europe.org When the abstract is received, you will be sent confirmation within 48h.

In the subject heading of the email please write:
Running title of abstract
Name of corresponding author

In the body of the email please include:

Full title of the abstract
Name of the author(s)
Email address of author(s)
Credentials, country, institution of author(s)

Please attach the abstract as a Microsoft Word document.

 Abstract instructions

All information presented in abstracts must conform to the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and subsequent WHA Resolutions.

Presenters will be required to disclose any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest that may have a direct bearing on the subject matter of the presentation. This includes disclosures of any financial interest/arrangement or affiliation with any organizations that could be perceived as a conflict of interest in the context of the subject matter of their presentation.

  • Abstract language: English
  • Abstract word limit: 250
  • Abstract title word limit: 20
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12
  • Abstract structure: Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusion. If your abstract does not fit into this format, please choose alternative headings that are appropriate to your abstract.
  • If abbreviations are used, the abbreviated term should be written out in full the first time it is used.
  • Maximum three tables and/or figures can be submitted with your abstract as an attached document. Please remember to refer to the appropriate table/figure in the abstract.

Poster guidelines

Posters will be displayed on a free-standing board.

Poster size: Din A2: 42.0 x 59.4 cm in portrait spread.

Oral presentation guidelines

There will be six opportunities for 15-minute oral presentations (10 minutes presentation and 5 minutes for questions). More information will follow after the acceptance of your abstract.

Review process

The Scientific Committee will evaluate abstracts based on scientific quality, educational value, contribution to the field, originality, and clarity. The Committee will determine the final decision about the acceptance of abstracts. We aim to notify authors of acceptance or rejection of their submission by 1st February 2023.

Accepted abstracts will be published as a supplement to Breastfeeding Medicine, The Official Journal of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, without tables/figures.
